Our Materials & Sustainability
Gold
Our jewelry is crafted using 18k and 14k gold, available in yellow, white, and rose gold. On request, we also offer platinum 950. Each piece is meticulously shaped through the lost wax casting method, a technique that significantly reduces gold waste compared to direct metal fabrication.
We source ethically recycled gold from a Valenza-based refinery, ensuring that our gold is responsibly reclaimed from fine jewellery production.
At MIYOCO, every piece is designed with precision, while JUNONE, our production atelier in Valenza, brings these designs to life. JUNONE is a jewelry studio founded by master goldsmith Calogero Lo Coco and Miyo, where all MIYOCO creations are meticulously handcrafted under one roof.
Our lost wax casting process is conducted in-house at JUNONE, using alloys supplied by a company certified by The Responsible Jewellery Council. This guarantees vibrant colors and a safe composition, safeguarding both artisans and the environment.
Every finished jewelry piece undergoes rigorous examination with the latest XRF technology, ensuring that the remaining nickel percentage is lower than the European standard, UNI EN 1811:2015. Our certification by a specialist in radioprotection guarantees safety for both our artisans and the environment.
Diamond
At MIYOCO, we celebrate the natural brilliance of ethically sourced diamonds. Each gemstone is carefully selected to meet strict quality control standards, ensuring both beauty and responsible sourcing.
Conflict-Free Assurance – Our diamonds come from suppliers who strictly follow ethical sourcing guidelines and are certified by The Responsible Jewellery Council.
Certified Quality – Every center diamond of 0.30ct and above is GIA or HRD certified and engraved with a unique serial number for authenticity.
Expert Gemological Assessment –
For uncertified stones, our gemological assessments are conducted at the studio of Dott. Paolo Orsini in Valenza, ensuring complete transparency and quality assurance.
Packaging
Our commitment to sustainability extends beyond our jewelry—it’s integrated into our eco-friendly packaging.
Instead of mass-produced plastic boxes, we partner with a local jewelry box studio in Valenza, which has been crafting exquisite packaging for over a century.
Handcrafted, Not Mass-Produced – Unlike generic plastic boxes that require bulk orders of 1,000+ units, each MIYOCO jewelry box is individually handcrafted using a traditional paper craft method.
Italian Textiles, Thoughtfully Utilized – We source premium Italian textiles, ensuring minimal waste by stocking only two sheets at a time in the workshop.
On-Demand Production – We do not keep excess packaging stock; instead, we commission each jewelry box only when an order is placed. This eliminates unnecessary production and ensures every box is made with care
Once completed, we personally pick up the packaging, further reducing our carbon footprint.
